Organic Skin Care Products The Delights Of The Natural World

Organic Skin Care Products The Delights Of The Natural World

To qualify as organic, skin care products must be made from at least 95% organically grown ingredients. You can buy organic products for every skin type with more products becoming available as the big cosmetic houses realize there is money to be made.

People will try and sell you organic skin care products on the basis that they cause no skin reactions due to the 100% natural ingredients. This is not always the case. If you know a hay fever sufferer, then you will see how miserable being exposed to nature can make some people.

The same holds true for cosmetics. You need to test out any skin care product before you buy it. While the product may be 100% organic, you will have a reaction if you are allergic to one of the ingredients.

A prime example of the above is the fact that a lot of these products use Avocado oil. Just as eating avocado is very good for you, this oil is amazing. It gently moisturizes your skin without blocking your pores and suits both sensitive skin and acne sufferers. But if you are allergic to avocados then you could have a severe reaction to products containing the oil.

Try putting on a little of the new product behind your ear and leave for 24 to 48 hours. If you experience no reaction you will probably be fine. If you do come out in a rash – it will be behind your ear so out of sight and you will have saved your cash.

People are switching to this type of skin care as they are becoming concerned about the cocktail of chemicals we are absorbing either by what we eat or what we put on our skin. The majority of cosmetics, skin care and make up products are made with synthetic ingredients. This is one of the reasons a jar of face cream will last for ages. The same cannot be said of organic skin care products. As they are made using natural ingredients i.e. herbs, flowers etc, they do not have a long shelf life and are often best kept in the fridge.

Organic skin care products can also appeal to those that wish to do their bit for the environment. A lot of organic cosmetic companies use recycled materials in their packaging. They obviously don’t use synthetic products or fragrances etc hence reducing their carbon footprint. Some of these products will also be suitable for those that do not want to buy make up from companies that use animals for testing purposes. However, not all organic products are created equal – you will need to check each company’s credentials.

Always read the labels on any products you are looking to buy. “Natural” is probably the most overused term in the whole beauty industry. Pay attention to the leaflets that come with your new cosmetics. Organic products need to be kept away from direct sunlight and heat.

Try organic skin care products for yourself and experience the smells and delights of the natural world.
